Page down key

I have a Word document of 96 pages (all separate, i.e. no run-ons). I've made some alterations, and I need to check that the headings are all at the top of the page. My Page Down key isn't working, and it takes a long time to scroll down and stop at the right place every time. Page Up is OK, so I suppose I could go to the end and work backwards, but I'd like to fix it if it isn't too complicated. Any ideas, please?

not sure if this is right but what about print preview would that show you where the headings are.

otherwise you can do ctl and enter before each heading and that would put it on a new page.

hope this helps

Thanks, afcjan, Print Preview works - I hadn't thought of that. I'd still like to fix the Page Down key, though.
I don't know of a word setting for page down ...
(it only works 1 screen at a time not actual pages .... unless you use the correct view)

stupid question first ... does page up work?

now the intelegent one ... does page down work in other progs?

and finally .... is the scroll lock key indicator on?
(you have numlock, caps and scroll lock on keyboard)
on lappy it's generally a Fn combination)

Page down isn't working in any program - makes no difference whether scroll lock is on or not.. Yes, Page Up OK so I realise that I can start from the bottom and work backwards. Best solution seems to be to use Print Preview and assume that the Page Down key is broken.
Think you may have got it with the "assume that the Page Down key is broken"

if it's a desktop you can just buy another keyboard very cheaply. if it's a laptop replacement keyboards are not normally hugely expensive from ebay but obviously changing them is a bit harder

Incidently on one of my laptops holding down the Fn key and using the down arrow does page down, but on the other one that key combo does the brightness... but worth a try.
another way of resolving the problem
(this is getting to be a bit obsessive I know....)

and use a key you can live without

or ... in accessibility there is the onscreen keyboard
start | run - type OSK
and enter ....

Thanks for your help, everyone. I'll use Page Up and Print Preview for now, then think about replacing keyboard (it's a desktop) soon.
Whenever I need to include *headings* in a Word Document, I use the Headers & Footers option - these work even if you want different headers throughout the document, you just put in section breaks at the required place. The Headers then get printed out at the top of each page, so you don't need to worry about ensuring they are in the right place. The same goes for Footers by the way - these are very useful if you want to identify the name of the document, author, date etc.

To put a header into your document, click on the View tab, then click on Header & Footer. Word should automatically take you to the Header area but if you need to go to the Footer area, just click on the 4th button from the right.
