Make sure it has a spell checker as well, you seem to need one of those :-)
People post loads of deals on here.

There is a guy who posts lots of Dell deals so keeping looking every day and see when he posts a deal.

He does not work for Dell, but he seems to dig out all the Dell bargains.
I would not buy a DEL I think they are too expensive by comparison of spec, I have a Fujitsu Semens Amilo and i am extremely happy with it!!
Any laptop at all will do.

I wouldn't bother spending more than 300 on it; any laptop these days will do what you want.

The only issue is getting it in pink --- these may be the slightly more expensive ones. But if you're adamant on this, then any pink laptop should do too.
As already stated, for your needs any 300 laptop will do.
Decide on how you need to use it:

Will you be carrying it around a lot? If so, you need a lighter laptop with a smaller screen. In not, get the biggest screen you can afford
Is the keyboard comfortable?
Does it have enough USB ports?
Must it have a dvd player?
Do you want a built in web cam?
Vista, XP or Linux?

Will it be your only pc, or will you have a desktop as well?

Whatever you decide, don't be guided by the colour - you can buy perfectly good skins for very little money:

if you get a dell ... make sure you stick to pink ... as ethel says ... you don't need red
but for office don't be tempted to go for lilac just because it's a few quid cheaper.

seriously .. dells are not bad ...

As for the sarcy comment over the spelling... was it really neccessary? no didnt think so....

We love to point out spelling errors - mainly because the spell checker should highlight your spelling errors for you as you type.
Mine does, but I don't it to tell me how to spell necessary.
