peugeot 406 door locks not working! help!

hello all, does anyone know anything about peugeot 406's? the door locks seem to have had it! the key fob hasnt worked for years & even after changing battery & doing the code thing i was told that i needed a new key fob but they are too expensive so ive used the key manualy for ages! the lock on drivers side is not turning at all & the passenger side is allmost stuck too so i wont be able to get in the car at all soon,ive tried WD40 but no good. the key goes into the lock but its so stiff it doesnt turn. i was wondering if anyone would know what the inside mechanics are like on these cars & what the cause could be? thank you im allways gratefull to anyones time taken to help. xxx

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Hi, Just try "entering" the key into the lock at the same time inserting WD40 into the lock barrel, turn to the Right/ Left until you feel the key getting easier, If that does not work, Take off the Door Card (Panel) Its not a big job you will need either a Philip's or a Torx Screwdriver, where the door handles are there should be 2 small blank covers, remove them then the door handle cover, remove the panel slowly as the plastic clips tend to break as you pull the panel off, when removed in view there should be a cover on the inside of the door remove this slowly then you can see the Link rods try WD40 again from the handle to the door lock itself, you will also come across the as you open the door the plug for the electrics, screw this back, undo it & WD40 to the connecting pins then try the locks from the outside, I think I have covered the topics & the procedure if not I will more than likely be told I am Guessing!!!!
