I fell out with someone a while age and they have (graciously I must add) invited me over during Xmas. Thing is I still feel aggreived and there have been 364 other days to make up. Am I being too stubborn?

Squitty, your son might feel as hurt as you do. I hope you give him a chance to make up.
I hope it works out well.

sqad617 - at least you are cheering me up!!
Who's fault was it you stopped speaking Squit? Does your son have a wife, who perhaps insisted your son put this feud behind him and invite you?

Thank you to everybody for their comments - it has been really helpful.

I have decided to try to patch things up and not extend the 'feud' but not until after Xmas.

I will also tell him WHY I dont feel it is right for me to join him during Xmas rather than a direct refusal.

Thanks again
Hey Squitts, life's too short lad. Whatever's happened, put it behind you and start the new year with a clean slate.

Best of luck buddy. x
good for you. he's your son but there must be some remorse from him for the situation even if it's taken a long time, and he didn't mark your birthday. hey, my mum forgets mine and we're on speaking terms (miserable *** that she is!).

try to keep calm and don't let the "talk" become inflamed. I wish you lots of luck x
