my puppies first season

my 8 month old ******** puppy is in her 1st season and has become very very quiet,subdued and lethargic.
she is drinking plenty of water but her appetite is'nt what it used to be.
she just lies on the floor most of the day and is not her normal playful self.
is this the norm?

They do tend to be a bit quiet, they are not sure what is happening to them. You do need to keep an eye on her though, should she seem poorly rather than just quiet then you should get her to the vet, as there is a condition called pyometra which bitches can suffer from which is very serious.
