For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I'm sure I read some years ago that by putting up a "Beware Of The Dog" sign, you were in effect admitting to having a dangerous dog and anyone bitten could use the sign as evidence against the owner.
I doubt that putting up a sign telling folk you have a legal firearm would in itself be illegal but if the firearm were used in circumstances the Crown Prosecution Service were outwith the law, they'd prosecute.
Surely, notices reading 'THIS HOUSE IS ALARMED' should be sufficient.
My husband used to keep our firearms locked away in a hidden secured gun cabinet, but we would never have advertised it.
(We had firearm certificates & had regular checks from the local Police. When the laws changed, we put them in the charge of our gun club).
