17 Answers
hi
called my friend earlier tonight but she wasn't in so i spoke to her mum
i was apologising for not sending out an xmas card as i was planning to put a picture of my daughter in the card in an outfit i'd ordered from mamas and papas. it was that 'Mary Christmas' outfit
I explained to her that i'd ordered it ages ago and as i'd moved and had to do the house up in 8 days it slipped my mind that the order hadn't arrived. by the time i chased the order up it was to late to get pictures ordered to send in the cards so i'll wait till the new year
her response was don't tell Pam about the outfit she'll think its tacky (pam = friend i'd called to speak to) then her mum went on to say.... its not that one from mamas and papas!!!
i was shocked so laughed it off saying its her first xmas.
what do you think? i think its cute getting a little outfit for their first christmas
if it had arrived on time she would've got good use out of it as its more like and over coat so would've used it most of December and also she had 2 xmas parties to go to .

You dress your baby in whatever you like - I am sure that she would have looked very cute!
Doesn't sound like much of a friend to me That wouldn't appreciate a picture of her friends baby regardless of what the baby was wearing.
Anyway, isn't tacky the new black?

hello carron, I just seached for mary on the mamas and papas website and saw a little suit of red top with white collar and stripey leggings - is this the one? If so, I think it is really cute and I most certainly would appreciate a photo like this of a friends baby I hardly ever see!!! I cant believe how mean your friend's mum was!!! Hope you and your little one have a beautiful, memorable first christmas together!!!!
I have a treasured photo of my little girl aged three months, she is wearing a red top and tartan trousers, and sat on my brothers lap, he is wearing a santa outfit. My dad is next to them and they are all roaring with laughter - it is a fantastic photo!!
lots of love.

god..... what is the world coming to when folk cant appriciate a cute picture of a baby at christmas.

delboy81,
carron did ask, and I only said putting it in a Christmas card was tacky,NOT the outfit.
BTW
I am 85,and we have
4 children,
12 grandchildren
and 8 Gt grandchildren,
AND one Gt~Gt Grandchild (on the way) expected March.
Thank goodness we go to one of them for Christmas, they wouldn't all fit in our small house.

Aww bless carron that is a really cute outfit!! and a nice idea to put a picture of your daughter in said outfit in all your christmas cards esp as you live so far away from friends and family.
Just remember it was your friends Mum who said that not your friend and for all you know your friend may have received the picture and thought how cute your daughter looked and not tacky at all, the Mum should be a bit embaressed about what she said tho.
Have a great Christmas :o)

I bet your'e the life and soul of the party Mr. Veritas!!
I love the idea of sending a picture of a child in a Christmas card - Christmas is about and for children and it is the most natural of things. I would far rather receive a picture of a friend's baby than one of vicious little robins or lumbering reindeer -lol. Well done Carron, a lovely baby in a sweet outfit - couldn't be better.
Happy Christmas all.
