Why does the enterprise make a whooshing sound when it is in space and we are looking at it from a special space camera and the microphone is presumably located close to the special space camera ?

Because it makes the programme more dramatic

There is no noise in space - its a vacuum. And Star Trek is fiction, not a documentary.
becouse like most sound and visual effects that could'nt possibly happen it would'nt make for interesting television

It's the sound of all those trekkers going "ooohhh" as they get excited about their program (?will he?) starting. I mean sad people they even organise things like conveentions and the like where they all sit around and just talk about their favourite....... Oh better shut up then eh?
