Computer problem

When playing DVD films, I am able to watch them fine for around 20 minutes before an error message: 'PCFRIEND caused an invalid page fault in
module KERNEL32.DLL at 017f:bff7d76b.'
I have tried to turn off the hardware acceleration as explained on the windows 98 help, but I am unable to play he DVD movie if Ido this. What can I do?

Firstly, what is PCFriend, if it is one of those anti-crash programs, I would disable it and see if that made any difference. If the error message still appears then you need to make a note of the number 017f:bff7d76b, if it is exactly the same every time then you could have faulty memory as this is what an invalid page fault generally means.
It may not happen when doing anything else as the DVD software could be the only program that uses this area of memory.
