I know this is a UK site but are any Irish people agreeing with me when I say this government is really letting the ordinary man down. They are throwing million of euro to their friends in the banks, trying to cover up their mistakes, then the f**king bankers are turning round and saying anyone who can't pay their mortgage can't simply hand back the keys because if the value of the mortgage is different to the houses current value, then people owe the bank the difference. What a shower of ba*tards.

I'm not Irish but I agree with you! My hubby was a bricklayer and has been unemployed for 3 months now. We have been told we're not entitled to any benefits as I earn too much money working 2 days a week! I earn �104 per week which does not cover our �300 a week bills. Not to mention the shopping etc.
If it wasn't for the help of our parents we would have had our house repossessed.
The Government are happy to throw benefits at people who come here from other countries but not for people who have worked all their lifes and paid tax.
