Hi all, does anyone know where this originated from... my friend always puts currants in her Yorkshire Pud, apparantly her mum did this and she got it from her gran. Even when making a sausage toad in go the currants! I asked my mate where this originated from and she doesn't know, all she knows is it's been passed down thru her family. Is this just her family recipe or does anyone know anything about this strange mixture?

I heard that years ago when times were hard, they used to serve up the yorkshires before the meat as this filled you up,and also could have yorkshire puds for pudding, with whatever, maybe thats where this came from, and ended up with the meat as timed passed!!!
