I imagine you can Puddicat, providing the patient is no longer actually one. So as a nurse or doctor, you shouldn't really be messing with your patients whilst they are under your care.

That would depend on the type of patient and the type of romance.

Getting invloved with a vulnerable patient i.e. elderly , mentally ill or very young would probably be a no no. However, the majority of people are in hospiat for only a short time, so getting involved after discharge should not be a problem unless, again, you were using your position of trust in the community to take advantage of a vulnerable person.

There is certainly no reason why a nurse could not take care of a partner in hospital unless their objectivity was compromised in some way.

Nurse can and often does become emotionally involved with a patient.
