Can anyone tell me if Morrissey is a favourite within the gay male community, does he have a large gay male following? My wife says he does and I say the opposite. Please settle this argument one way or the other. Thanks.

I can safely say that he is NOT a gay icon at all! Contrary to poular belief he is not gay, and his music is far too good for gay people to appreciate as the majority of them only like cheesy crap.Morrissey is a genius!

What??? How can you make such a ridiculous generalisation about gays? I'm gay and I certainly don't like cheesy crap. I am a die-hard Morrissey fan. And Morrissey has famously never revealed his sexual orientation. He says he doesn't like the labels 'gay' and 'straight'. But if you listen to some of his more recent stuff you will find that there is some definitely homoerotic lyrics in it.
