I am thinking of getting my daughter in with a childminder. Does anybody have any idea of the going rate at the moment?

I think it varies depending on where you live, the age of the child and what hours you are looking for, My neighbour charges 4.25 an hour - snacks included

I had a registered childminder as a child and she beat me on a regular basis. Saying that, it was over 30 years ago, I expect things are different now.

I am just about a registered childminder (and also a qualified nursery nurse)
I would hope that the days of child carers beating children are now long gone. Thats if the amount of checks I have had done on me and my family are anything to go by!
By the way Bobbybob I am going to charge �3.50 ph and live in West Yorks. Apparently the going rate in my area is anything from �3 to �4.50ph

Surely its not about money but more the quality of care and at any price!
