Screen problems

Hi

Please advise me if there is anything (other than buying a new screen) that I can do re my screen.

For the last two or three days text on screen appears to ripple. Best way I can describe it. All text has a trailing shadow.

All you tech people out there I need your advice please.

There aren't any ac adapters near the display are there? I had a monitor that did a similar thing until the adapter was moved away from it.
