Weights are important, as the more lean muscle you have the more bodyfat will be used as fuel, and they will help to speed up your metabolism.

I found that Body Pump was really helpful, it is a combination of cardio and weight training. I went down an entire dress size, although did not lose weight (not that I intended to) within one month attending two sessions per week. The classes are one hour long and I absolutely loved it; I would still be going now had I not had a baby and am now not available to attend the classes when there are on at my local leisure centre.
It's worth a try though, and personally, I find it easier to stick with when other people are going too.

You may be too young for weights and I suggest you try these bands.....far gentler and at your own pace.
