Another thing to watch out for when someone pours you a drink they shoud always hold the bottom of the glass, the top part is 'yours' as you drink from this bit. if he ever pours you a pint and holds the glass at the top, given his habits i'd refuse to accept it!

Certainly sounds dubious to me. And if he does that fairly openly, makes me wonder what goes on behind the scenes.
If you are worried about it, i would contact your local councils environment health team who are responsible for checking that food/drink providers are meeting set standards. They can do surprise visits, so they would most likely suss him out!

he certainly is breaking the hygiene laws!! Get in touch with the environmental health officer, they will send somebody round to check out the place. I reported a cake shop once, the girl that went to serve me was actually eating a cream cake, licked her fingers and went to serve me with unwrapped bread! When I suggested she wash her hands first, she looked at me as though I'd crawled from under a stone...............
Oh yuk! I would definitely say he's breaking hygiene laws. When I worked in catering a very long time ago, we were not allowed to touch our mouths, noses, hair, or even put our hands up to our faces at all, without washing our hands afterwards. Whistling was also not allowed as we could "spray" the food we were preparing. We did not get smoking breaks, you just did not smoke anywhere on the premises, end of story. We all did as we were told, imagine youngsters today putting up with that!
Mr O took me out for a meal last month. When he went to the gents loo, the chef was also in there....in a cubicle having a poo.
The chef didn't wash his hands in the loos and hubby watched him go straight back into the kitchen (open plan) where he began kneading pizza dough.
Yuk!
We had a discrete word with the manager who wasn't bothered. I was so outraged I phoned Environmental Health. They weren't interested either.
I make my own pizzas at home now!
