Blackberry Storm.....again!

OK when locked how do I stop the backlight coming on then off every 30 seconds or so. Drives me mental when trying to sleep so I have to put it in another room. I have RTFM'd o no avail, I know all there is to know about backlighting except what I want to know aaarrrrggghhh! Help!

can you not just put it in its cover? this would stop you from been ablt to see the light. not stopping the problem but a barrier.
i have the blackberry curve and i think its the best phone ever!!

yes I could but I'd really lke to stop it because it also runs the battery down quicker.

I'd look to see what it's doing every 30 secs to make this happen. Have you set it to check mail every 30 secs or are you leaving a web page running whle locked that refreshes at this interval? Something must be causing it. Have you got a screen saver incorrectly installed or set, check display settings and disable it maybe.
