1. thin yeast cake: a soft flat yeast cake, traditionally made in northern England. It is similar to a crumpet but thinner and is usually eaten buttered.
2. Australia, New Zealand small pancake: a small thick pancake made of batter

It looks like a pikelet is just thinner !
