Any clues to this please?
if its generic one then top on, if it's a branded one for your specific washer and dryer then as per the instructions.

Chuck - it is a branded one for my Miele but the instructions are dire. I can't make head or tail of it.

Lid off, and it doesn't seem to fit. Lid on and holes with to be screwed or drilled in to the lid. I emailed Miele a few days ago, no response yet and being deaf I don't want to phone them.

I have a man coming tomorrow to do the work for me and I want to be sure he does it right
Does this diagram help? Looks to me as if the lid is still in place.

Stompe - I've had them a few years now, but just resited them. Most of my kitchen appliances are Miele. The exception is my fridge which is Bosch - simply because Miele don't do one with drawers instead of shelves.
