Dishwasher problem
5 Answers
Over the last couple of days my dishwasher hasn't been working properly. Although the dishes are coming out cleaner, they also have a horrible dried-in gritty feeling. Putting them through the wash again only seems to make the grittyness stick even more so I have to wash them by hand.
I have had a look at the filter and it doesn't seem to be blocked. Any ideas on what the problem could be?
Thanks.

This involves doing a wash cycle with only the dishwasher product upended in the cutlery basket. This has worked for mine in the past. Also, where does your dishwasher drain into? If it is into your sink drain it may be worthwhile disconnecting it from where it connects into your drain and basically getting it as low as possible and slap it about a bit ( to dislodge any residual grease and goo). Have an old towel around to collect the sludge! It can be surprising what collects in the folds of the pipe. I was sceptical about using a dishwasher cleaner but they seem to do what they say on the packet. Cheers, Andy
Now and again mine does this, after checking the salt and rinse aid levels (as already suggested) I run the machine empty and throw in a cup of white vinegar and put half a lemon in the cutlery tray, I find this gives it a really good clean and it smells fresh, I also run a cloth along the door edge, you will be amazed at the muck that comes off. good luck.
