how does imdb work? are there people sat in an office entering every film that ever existed, or do the public enter them? or do the film makers enter them themselves? how?? cheers ta

it's the first of your options - it's staffed (it's owned by Amazon.com).

go to the site, click 'help' and 'about IMDB' and there's loads of info including a detailed history.

Although primarily edited privately (they have a UK office in Bristol), anyone (including filmakers I guess) can contribute.

Never done it myself (apart from the odd review) but I know someone who has submitted corrections/updates to the "The Last Unicorn (2006)" information.

As mentioned, public, anyone associated with the film/TV industry, and especially with the subscription version the actors agents too.

Damn useful website!
