Explanation Please

The clue is 'Being very tall, see if television is reboxed and amplified. (3.4.4)
The known letters are S?X ???T ?I?E.

This suggests either Six Foot Five , Six Foot Nine or Feet instead of foot.

As clue says Very tall I think it is Nine.

It is driving me scatty so suggestions are welcome.

I think there may be an anagram of something including SEE IF TV, which suggests it may be six feet five, but I'm stuck on where the X comes from!
Does FX have something to do with amplify? If so that just leaves IE , which means 'that is' and could be the ''being" bit.

The clue was sent to me by a relative and if she left out the word 'that' after television then it could explain the IE (that Is).

I think FX could mean amplified.

This has been on here a few times over the last week, and other posters have put "O" as the second character of the second word. I have already filled two sheets of A4 with possible anagrams etc,

Incidentally, the clue is as given above, namely:

Ah, V for very. Amplified in terms of expanding the Roman numerals.
