Childminding- state of house
5 Answers
HI there, just a query, a member of my family is looking to start childminding, yet there are various decorating projects unfinished around the house. It is a very safe environment just quite unsightly in places. Would this effect her being able to be registered?

Maybe check out the ofsted website to get all the in's and out's.
It's all changed since my day, but she'll need to do training courses, including first aid and a business one, but she'll get a budget for equipment, toys, stationery, that sort of think, but again, I don't know all the fine details.
It's a difficult job and can seem like a right old up hill struggle just to get up and running... but it's a way of being at home with the children and earning some pin money...
I'll see if I can find a link for you...

Have a scour around here for all the information she'll need - and you do realise that once she's in childcare, 'ofsted' will be regarded as a swear word and should be used with care!!! lol
Good luck..

I don't think it would be a problem with Ofsted as long as it is safe but it may put off certain customers!
I am just about registered and the whole process for me will have taken 5 months. It is a pain in the bum and a whole lot harder than you would imagine especially with the EYFS. I am a qualified nursery nurse and am used to this kind of thing but all the planning etc has taken me hours and hours.
