Advice on a damp issue???
1 Answers
Hi Everyone
I have recently had a little girl and prior to that decorated the small front bedroom. Since decorating w have noticed that there is a huge damp problem in the corner of the room. In its current state i couldnt consider putting her in her own room....
Can anybody suggest how to get rid of or block damp? i am confident that this isnt a gutter problem as these have recently been cleared and since asking around have found this is quite a common problem.
Any advice is very welcomed.
Cheers

I get involved in a few cases of this and condensation is caused from a number of reasons, normally down to ventalation, temp of room, living conditions ie tumble dryer, drying clothes etc. Is the wall painted or wallpapered. Is there an air brick in the room! Just for starters keep the door shut, radiator on, top window just cracked open, you can buy a cheap damp detector, this is good enough to check things out, if the wall is stained it will bleed through most things, you can paint over it with oil based undercoat, or buy stain block in paint or aerosol.
