PS3 Optical Out

Hi,

Does anyone know whether the PS3 can downmix either Dolby TrueHD or DTS Master Audio to 2 chanel LPCM and then output it through the optical out?

Or does it just downmix the standard Dolby Digital track instead?

I have already trawled the forums - I know that it can send LPCM over HDMI - i need to know whether it will downmix the HD audio track and pass it through the optical out.
