We have an Audi Q7 which has the embarrasing problem of the locks freezing up and the door not shutting in very cold weather. We have tried simple solutions but the only way of shutting the door is to thaw out with a hairdryer!! Not very practical. Doesn't Germany suffer cold temperatures or what!! How infurating. Please any suggestions. It seems the lock solenoid is freezing.
You spend all that money on a Q7 and you have to do that? What a joke! What sort of climate is the car left in? Do u live on a mountain top? Good luck!
plenty of grease to stop the freezing is the usual answer but you shouldnt really have to on vehicle of this age.
Have you at any time tried thawing with hot water ?..that just makes matters worse it washes out the grease. I suppose its also possible the hairdryer could melt the grease if it was to hot.
