Would you not like to get the video/s onto DVD?
If you Google VHS to DVD, you'll find many national companies.
However, just yesterday, I passed a 'local' Alliance Pharmacy advertising such a service. It happened to be in the East Kilbride shopping mall but you could look around your area. Maybe they also do VHS to VHS?
Some links (with a store locator).

Failing that, look for a VHS to VHS machine (you'll be lucky!?).
You could buy one of the many VHS to DVD recorders on the market (not as expensive as they used to be). Copy the VHS to DVD and then back to VHS. You may lose some quality though?
This doesn't usually work with commercially protected videos eg. Disney with Macrovision.
Best of luck!
