The FA and Leagues have spoiled this. They used to give the home area to which the referee was affiliated. So your programme would read something like " Referee Mr J Smith (Cambridge)". Now Chelsea's programme doesn't even give the name of the referee ! Doesn't matter: the Shed knows them all by sight and insults them all accordingly.

they are all from manchester apperently......get over it, they are regulated.....

i used to know a few refs and they have their backgrounds checked, relatives who they support etc, and then they cannot ref a game they could have a interest in.....thats why you see the same refs doing your matches, not in equal proportions......the 'big game refs' are always those with no affiliation with any club...well thats what i was told anyway
