They keep saying on BBC news it's the first ever. Bowlocks, I know John Lowe did it in the eighties on TV and Nicky veraschel did it before that but not on TV. Or did I dream those?

(Go on Sid!!!!!)
Barney's also done it in the Darts Premier League against Peter Manley. They both scored the two maximums to leave the 141 check-out but RVB had the throw.
Cheer up Peter Manley: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Ncg3KRQN9ak
RVB has also lost a leg of darts to it at the hands of countryman Michael Van Gerwen. Check out MVG going 174, 180, 147

No he didn't.
"That" John Low match was in 1984 (October 13th per the You Tube description) and was in the World Matchplay, not the World Championships. Deller did go on to win that match and was runner up in the tournament to Eric Bristow.
Deller did become world champion in 1983, beating Jocky Wilson in the final, and beat John Lowe 4-3 in the semi final along the way but that was a different tournament some 22 months earlier. He wasn't even the reigning world champion at the time, Bristow having regained it in January 1984.
