40 weeks
heya im 40 weeks plus 4 days pregnant and i am experiencing my belly going very tight and it hurts but i can handle the pain. it comes and goes and i just expect it is braxton hicks. i have a midwife appointment on wednesday does anyone no what she will say and do as i am now overdue? thanks

Everyone's pains are different, but it DOES sound to me as though something's happening, but you could stay like that for another few days yet. Think it'd be best to call your midwife or hospital in the morning. If you have to go in, there's nothing to worry about. they're not going to do anything horrible to you.

sounds to me like contractions, they often feel like a wave going down from top of bump as it gets hard.
try and get them going and ensure baby is on cervix or they could take ages, try a birthing ball or something and sit and rock your hips, get on all fours and encourage baby to get in optimum position.
also keep moving if you can.
It is said that if a bath doesnt stop the pains then they are contractions.
