Is there any other person in the country persecuted like the likes of the Motorist? Do people the likes robbers, Pedos, Money lenders, Child Molersters & all the Muggers get treated like the Motorist? Who causes the most accidents, why are we done, is it because we are becoming so bloody scared as soon as we set off in the morning that we cannot concentrate on Driving? or what we are doing that we get done, A moan? think about it.

Oh dear. Has another NIP come in the post?
One of the main reasons is that the number of offences that can be committed by a motorist is immense. Compare this to (say) a mugger or a paedophile. Those miscreants really only have one activity that makes them fall foul of the law and it is much easier for them to remain on the right side.

Of course, if you are talking about persecution, there are far more motorists than muggers and (heres the rub) it is much easier for police to detect and prosecute the numerous offences which millions of people are likely to commit than to detect and prosecute one offence which far fewer people are prone to. The evidence to support most motoring prosecutions is straightforward and readily available. Furthermore motoring offenders (or at least their vehicles) are easily identifiable, having by law to carry a registration plate. Detecting and prosecuting a mugger, wearing a hoodie and who escapes by running up a back alley is not so easy.

So the next question is, where should the police be concentrating their efforts?
the fun really has gone out of driving
I have been driving for 50 years, drove constantly in the course of my business, still drive and have never been, or felt, persecuted.

Not one speeding ticket or parking fine or any other motoring fine or conviction.

The motorist has a choice - stick to the rules or not.
i have to agree with ethel on that one, most motorists give themselves problems by thinking they are immune to the rules and regulations and then cry foul when they are nabbed
Another agreement with Ethel. as a motorist you have a choice on how to drive. If you keep to the rules and use good judgment you can spend you driving life without hassle. I don't feel persecuted in any way.
.
for shizzle, i speed, but am fully prepare to accept the reprcussions if they fall my way....

lets say i jumped 100 red lights in my time, are you saying that a mugger is 'allowed; to mug 100 times and its 'ok' ?
