Why are large files not copying between drives on Windows Vista?

When I've tried to copy large files from my hard drive to a pen drive, they simply haven't been copied. The smaller files have but the large files appear to have simply been ignored.

PS3 Linux - is there a point?

What do you mean by Large files? Your pen drive is probably formatted with FAT32, whereas your hard drive will be NTFS. There is a filesize limit of 2GB using Fat32.

What size are the files?

If they are very large files, it may be that your pen drive is formatted as FAT which will only take files up to 4GB. (You can reformat - but this will wipe anything on your drive).

If not, is your pen drive large enough for the files?

Thanks, the files are not that big at all - mostly less than 20mb - and the pen drive is 16gb so there should be plenty of room. I've solved the problem in a way by right-clicking on the files and choosing "send to" the removable disk which is working okay. Previously, I simply dragged from the c drive to the f drive as I used to using XP. Who knows? Thanks anyone to everyone who responded.
