I have a one year old cat who still has his dangly bits (only one visable). The question is to neuter or not to neuter. At the moment he is a happy chappy and seems quite contented so I am being silly or should he be de-knackered, makes me wince to even think about it. MY head says yes but my heart says no. I'm told he will begin to pong as he gets older, is this true?

Apart from being totally irresponsible by increasing the already massive overpopulation of the local cat population, he will begin to spray all over your house and garden, and those of your neighbours, wander off to find a female and fight with other local males.

From a health point of view a retained testicle can become cancerous and entire males can suffer from prostate trouble.

Yep - get him done, hun. No more revolting smell from his spraying, and no wandering off for several days on end and then returning with a ripped ear or something.
he'll recover ever so quickly, and make a lovely pet for years to come. x

my cats 6 months old and he is getting it done next week. we took him for a check up before christmas but the vet said he wasnt a big enough boy to have it done, but I think he is now. gives them enough washes anyway.

singapore we are also having him chipped at the same time. if you are considering that then the vet does it all under the same anesthetic.

They are only 'more loving' because they have much more spare time now that they don't spend their days washing their bits, servicing lady cats and fighting.

Entire tom cats can be smelly creatures. My wee Frankie's back end is black - the fur where his nuts were is white. How is that for advertising your services to the ladies?!
