It must be really embarrasing for someone to go into a chemist & ask for extra small - well you if you can buy extra large, surely you must be able to buy that size too?
I wouldn't know, as I've only ever been on the pill, then my husband had the chop - well not literally!
(I'm sure he won't mind me telling you that, it was a responsible thing for him to do after all).
I'm glad you enjoyed smudge and, no, it wasn't me. I too was sent to have my pockets picked many years ago and can remember having to go for a 'chat' with the surgeon before hand. After the basic 'Are you both entirely convinced that this is what you want?' discussion he said 'Right Mr. ****, behind the screen and let's check the equipment.'
My wife was obviously expecting this but I believed that we were there for counselling only and had said as much earlier to her. It wasn't an embarrassment but she was nearly off her chair laughing while I was being examined.
'Your wife has got a good sense of humour, hasn't she?' he said while confirming that my equipment was in order. I said she usually laghs when she sees it, not when I'm behind a screen. Needless to say she didn't get the chance to go with me when I went for the snip.
And there lies another story......
Mine was the first appointment of the day, or so I was told, 9.00am.
When I arrived a smart nurse said, 'Good morning Mr. ****, We've had to fit in another patient before you. Go into this cubicle and get undressed, you can leave your socks on.' So I'm stood in my socks waiting with trepidation as nurses and staff wander past at regular intervals until it's my turn for theatre.
As I entered I could see stainless steel kidney bowls, that had not yet been cleared away, covered in blood and as the surgeon spoke to me I could sense that this was not to be the doddle I expected.
'Climb up.' He said and gestured to the table. I did so, whereupon he laid a green cover ove my body with but a six inch square aperture in the middle. A nurse reached through the aperture and pulled percy and pals through the opening ready for action. He held aloft a syringe and said, 'You may feel a prick.' I said 'I do but you must be used to that by now.'
'No!' He said, 'I mean from the needle.'
Apart from that and several sore days, everything was fine.
