BAXI combi boiler 600E - problems
1 Answers
AAAARGHHHHHH! Our boiler is approx 5 yrs old, we have had probs for the last 2 yrs with numerous faults which all been rectified with the latest needing a new circuit board. Now, we constantly have to reset the system as it will only run for a short time in between 30 sec-2hrs and can take a few attempts to relight it via the reset button (which has now broken itself). When it cuts off it flashes up with the light 'flame failure', only seems to be affected with the central heating system as all through summer it was fine with the hot water. Sometimes the only way to restart it is to turn hot water on to allow the boiler to get to max temp and then turn water off allowing boiler to switch back over to CH. Our CH engineer is now avoiding our calls etc as he just doesnt seem to know how or wants to fix it! Can someone help PLEASE ;0(

Baxi offer a fixed price repair, which i think is about 240, but that includes all parts and labour and can workout great value esp when you think a fan can be 150, circuit board 150, heat exchanger up to 300 etc, also their engineers only work on their own boilers and so are experts on them.
i can sympathise with your heating engineer as you can't be an expert on every single boiler out there as there are thousands and they're very complex machines and getting more complex all the time. there comes a time when you've done so much work on a boiler and its still playing up that you have to admit defeat and call it a day.
