You are more than welcome Patsy, but what puzzle is this from? You have DT 25823 and my copy of that crossword is quite different.
Its the DT Quick not the Cryptic :-)
Thank you pbeach, that explains it, I never look at that one, it takes me all day to do the cryptic and Herculis/Toughie.

The best bit (for mae at least) about the quickie in the DT is how they link the first (usually 2) across clues together to make a phrase.

For example, the first 3 from Saturday's quickie were:
Billed
Ding
Society ...making 'Building Society'.

Today's are 'Good' & 'Mourning' ...you get where I'm going!

I always enjoy tackling the quickie but often lose interest once I've cracked that link thing.
Rain Man
There are sometimes more than two answers in the phrase as with this mornings ie. The first five questions across are italicised which means they are the clues for the phrase, therefore the phrase should read :- good mourning again mondays ear.
Galleyboots,

You are of course correct - I didn't spot the italics today and gave up on 'Good morning' - I should have mentioned the italics.

Cheers!
