The answer depends upon the equipment you've got.

If you've got a DVD recorder with a built-in digital (Freeview) tuner, it's simply a matter of pressing 'Record' (or, of course, using the timer function).

If you've got a DVD recorder without a built-in digital tuner, you can connect a Freeview box (or the output from a TV with built-in Freeview) into the DVD recorder, using a Scart. Then record as usual, but with the channel on the DVD recorder set to 'AV', 'Aux', 'Ext', 'Line In' or whatever else the relevant button is called on your particular model.

If you haven't got a DVD recorder, and want to use your PC, you'll either need a digital TV card or an alternative method of getting a TV signal into your PC. (There are USB TV devices available. Alternatively you could use a cheap analogue card or suitable USB device and feed in a signal from a Freeview box). That would let you record programmes onto your hard drive, which could then be burnt to disk.

Buenchico was very explanantory, I will now purchase a scart after further research into which I should purchase as I have a panasonic TV with intregated freeview..
