Renault Megane boot lid won't stay up.

The boot lid on my (53 reg) Renault Megane won't stay up. There's a hissing noise coming from the right arm and boot lid suddenly drops. any ideas?

The gass strut is no good, best to replace both.

Are they easy to get hold of new ones and can you fit them yourself?

Try eurocar parts, they usually are v easy to fit and as recommended change both. They are usually held on by retainer clips that pop off, be carefull they dont pop off into the undergrowth, use a broom stick to hold up the lid while you dismantle them.
