Scratching posts

We have just bought our 9 year old cat a new scratching post as the old one was looking rather worn.

She seems reluctant to use it so has anyone any ideas on how we can get her used to it.

Try rubbing catnip on it, they usually do aything for that

You can buy it in spray form, my cats go into ecstasy mood when I use it on their post.Also gives us some peace lol .g

I was going to suggest catnip as well, you can get bottles from some of the pound shops.

Maybe rub a blanket of hers on as well so it has her smell.
