Change of pay day

I work for a large company whose employees have always been paid on the 15th of the month ( or beforehand if the 15th falls on a weekend or Bank Holiday). A global e mail was sent out today stating that we will be paid on Feb 15th but thereafter on the 30th of the month, commencing April 30th. What does the company have to gain by changing pay day?

I don't believe for a second they are paying you for March on Feb 15th. No company would pay employees six weeks in advance in effect and if they were then that'll be why they are changing it.
I think most companies these days will pay their staff at the end of the month for the month just worked in my experience. And the obvious immediate advantage to them is in cash flow, though that'll only be a one off benefit.

I went through a similar change in payment dates about 25 years ago to be honest , from weekly to monthly pay , The company gave us thechance to have an interest free loan to accomadate any problems we would encounter , You would be wise to ask them your company is offering any assitance similar to this, Failing that discuss it with your bank for a free overdraft facility just in case you needed to use it , better to plan ahead and have something in place than nothing at all,
