Alexander Technigue is it any good?

My back shoulders and lower regions are really suffering these days would this help?

I read a lot about it and it seemed to me that you need a good teacher, preferably on a one to one basis, to be sure you are doing it right.
I opted for Pilates which I was told would probably be better as it strengthens the core muscles in your abdomen, taking pressure off your back.
