Does anyone remember this Children's TV programme from the 80s? All I can remember about it was that it took place in a Stately Home somewhere and that the statues came to life in the garden perhaps at sunset. The programme featured a group of kids who may have been a family and at one point they got turned into statues and may have got stuck in a statue as well. Very confused memories I know but I do remember it freaked me out as a kid and these memories of the programme, however vague, have stayed with me ever since. Have read other posts on other forums describing this programme but whilst others clrearly share my memories nobody knows what the programme was called. Please help!

There was one called The Enchanted Castle which fits your description. I'm trying to find a link for you
I remember that and the "Ugly Wugly's" people made out of paper who came to life at sunset. I think bensmums link is right.
