There is no law about it, but council guidelines state that very noisy work should stop at 6pm and there should be no noisy work after 8pm.

Anything after that may constitute a noise nuisance.
when i complained about our neighbours about the noise we were getting i was told 11pm was the deadline, i thought this a bit much but thats what they said
Just pray they are not putting a flag pole up
any noise that causes a nuisance is prohibited by law. But with building work, its a different category, i think its 6 o'clock, but im not 100% during mon-fri and untill 1 o'clock on saturday!
