If an employee is employed as say "Line Supervisor" and has worked for the company over 10 years, can the employer make them redundant when they change the title to say "Tech Op" when they carry out exactly the same work and have done so for 10 years. And once they are made redundant make other employees "Tech Ops" in their old jobs. Would they have a claim against the company

Were the employees who are being made Tech Ops also Line Supervisors or Tech Ops or something different? And is the Tech op joba promotion or sideways move for them?
I expect teh company is restructuring and may be asking people to apply for the new roles or matching them, and the Tech Op job size will be claimed to be lower than your Line Supervisor.
Have Line Supervisors been given a chance to be considered for teh Tech Op job

I'm afraid still not clear about what you are saying. It would help if you could clarify whether:
(a) you and the company accept that the Tech Op job is more or less identical (in terms of responsibilities, job size etc) as the Line Suervisor job
(b) the people who are being made Tech ops have been doing the same role for some time or are they being being moved up/down/sideways into a different role than they've had before.
Are the firm stopping operating one of the shifts?
Haveyou already left and then found others have been put into your old role?
