Candle wax

Does anyone have any suggestions about how to remove candle wax off a carpet?

I dropped bright red candle wax on my pale green carpet, and had great success by placing brown paper ..the sort you use for parcels..the thicker the better,on top . I know this sounds a bit drastic,but then place a hot iron on top of paper...the heat draws up the wax onto the paper... keep using a fresh piece of paper, until it draws it all up. As I say it sounds a bit daunting, but it worked well !!! Good luck.
