Sky remote control TV compatability
4 Answers
I don't know if I am asking a stupid question because I have close to no technological knowledge, but here goes!
I have a sky box and the remote control is a pain in the @rse cause the buttons stick etc so I want to get a new remote. However something makes me think that the remote has to be compatible with the TV? Is that right? If so, my TV is a Toshiba and how do I know if the remote is compatable?
PS - I have a sky+ box too but it is the remote from the ordinary sky box that is giving me bother.
Hope this makes sense!

Though if the buttons are sticking take it apart and wash the case and the rubber sheet with the buttons dry them and put it back together. if your planning to get another one it's a no loose if it doesn't cure it.

there is normally a little screw under the battery cover and often another under the led cover at the top end, the led cover will slide off, then use a blunt knife or similar to prise the case apart.
you have nothing to loose :)
and the codes can be got on the link below, or by following the instructions at the top of the link you can find them though your sky box too (which will probably be a more up to date list)
