What is the best?

I'm hoping someone can help me.I have been going to the gym every morning and doing a 40 minute workout. Is this as effective as going 3 times a week for 1-1.5 hours at a time? Idon't know what's best?

A shorter routine repeated often is always going to be more benefit than a longer session with a longer interval inbetween.

Personally, I'd do a forty-minute workout every other day to give your body time to recover, and minimise the risk of strains and stresses.
It really depends what your workout consists of and what you are trying to achieve. If it's just general fitness, then 20-30 minutes of Cardiovascular exercise, where you keep your heartrate up for that time, is sufficient if carried out three times per week.

Thank you both. I do the exercise bike, running machine and rowing machine every other day and I do a body pump class on the other days. I am trying to get a bit fitter and to tone up after losing a lot of weight.
It sounds like you are already doing plenty Abbie. It just takes time to realise the results.
