The engine electronic light came on last week on my Vauxhall zafira. The front oxygen sensor was replaced after it was diagnosed as faulty and warning light was out but the light came back and stayed on after 3 days. What could have caused this. The car still drives normal but I am worried I might damage the cat if the lamda sensor is faulty. Please can someone help me

the chances are its the mass air flow sensor ( i assume its petrol ) its a common problem, my son-in-laws 1.8 Zafira has just had its second one fitted, only seem to last about 35,000 mile.
The worrying thing is as with yours the fault code (on a genuine Vaux tech2 system) showed oxy / lamba sensor which was fitted and made no difference..Speak to someone in the know and they will tell you ignore the code fit a mass sensor 1st.

Its easy to fit yourself, just goes in the air cleaner intake pipe.
After its fitted the light will stay on for a couple of days or X amount of starting sequences , but DONT keep flicking the starter to try and get it to go out. It will go out on its own.

You guessed correctly. Its a 1.8 petrol comfort. The garage just returned the car and the light is off again but they could not find any fault code.I will fit a new mass air flow sensor.I want to say a big THANK YOU to CHAS 4 the Diagnosis.Experience they say is the best Teacher
It doesnt have to be a genuine Vauxhall one, the factors do them for about 1/2 price, just as good.
As the light has gone out again i would be driving as normal and waiting for it to play up again.
