can someone tell me how many spanial breeds are there?just a week back a saw a dog with  white and black hair (more black and a little of white spread over her body) she had long ears just like a spanial but i'm not sure which breed is she so any guess

Just off the top of my head:

Cocker Spaniel, Clumber Spaniel, Springer Spaniel, King Charles Spaniel - these are the most popular breeds, I'm sure there are lots more.

We once owned a dog that sounds like the one you describe and he was a Blue Roan Cocker Spaniel like this

Not sure how many breeds there are, sorry, but I have a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who looks exactly like this....!
